Sandhurst Primary School is a large school – around 660 pupils attend full-time as well as 25 full time Nursery children and 50 part-time Nursery children.
The school is set on a large site. There are 2 main buildings at the front of the school connected by a glass walkway. Behind these buildings is a separate purpose-built nursery and a modular classroom. We have a purpose built dining hall. This room is also used for larger meetings such as curriculum events and family learning sessions.
There is a playground space for all children as well as separate outdoor learning spaces for pupils in Nursery and Reception.
We are extremely proud of the relationships we have formed with our families and the opportunities we provide for the children and their families, as well as the wider community.
In 1997 a new building was added and the Prefabricated buildings which were used for extra classrooms were demolished. Later a link was added from the new building to the original school.
In 2012 two extra classrooms and a new Dining Hall were built. In 2017, a further two classes were created.
In April 2018, the Infant and Junior schools merged to become Sandhurst Primary School.
Our Community
We are situated in Catford, a busy residential area of SE London within the borough of Lewisham.
We are very much a community school and we have many strong links with local schools and Early Years providers.
As a school we make great use of our community, going to the local shops, using local transport for outings wherever possible, walking to the nearby parks and visiting places of worship in the area.
